I started this a little while back but just recently reopened the file, made some changes, etcetera etcetera. I probably racked my brain about this more than I should've, too. Oh, the trials and tribulations of dreamcasting as a hobby. Anyways, I casted as follows:
Amanda Seyfried as Rapunzel
- I've always thought Amanda Seyfried looked like Rapunzel and would make a good Rapunzel, with their big eyes and long blonde hair.
Mia Talerico as Young Rapunzel
- I'm not gonna lie, the kid's adorable. They both have blond hair and big green eyes and they're both flipping adorable :3
Jean-Luc Bilodeau as Flynn Rider
- Another one I've always stuck by. Since I came across the idea, anyways. He's the guy from that Sixteen Wishes movie from Disney Channel but I think he'd make a pretty good Flynn, both in looks and demeanor as far as I know. Just my opinion, though :3
Rachel Hurd-Wood as Merida
- This is another one I've always stuck by. I know everyone casts Lily Cole as Mer but I honestly think Rachel makes a better Merida. But that's just my opinion. :3
Francesca Capaldi as Young Merida
- Yeah, the little girl from that god-awful Dog with a Blog show on Disney Channel. This is pretty much only for looks 'cause the kid isn't that great of an actress as far as I know (I don't know, I haven't bothered to torture myself watching the show long enough to really notice but considering the way Disney Channel's been going, I just instantly assume they're all horrible actors and actresses by default). I chose her, though, pretty much because both her and Merida have the big, curly red locks and the girl could pass as Rachel's younger double...I think. I don't know, this one's up for interpretation.
John Krasinski as Hiccup Haddock
- Yeah,I know there's a ginormous flipping age gap between John and Hiccup but what can I say? My original thought (a boy whose name I forget) was kind of young next to everyone else and probably would've stuck out like a sore thumb so I decided to change it and thought John Krasinski fit nicely. They've both got the same kind of nose and green eyes. In one picture, John's hair was styled pretty similar to Hiccup's but I didn't use it only because I wasn't sure how recent it was and I wanted to use nothing but recent pictures.
Gemma Ward as Astrid
- When it came time to dreamcast Astrid, I was at a bit of a loss at first because I hadn't seen HTTYD yet when I started this but I kind of wanted to find someone similar in appearance to Rapunzel. Then I came across Gemma and thought she was perfect, especially in this picture 'cause the way her eyeshadow looks gives her a similar look to Astrid. They've both got blonde hair and grey eyes too, which I find it hard to find people with legit grey eyes so that was pretty lucky :3
Niall Horan as Jack Frost
- PLEASE. DON'T. FLIPPING. KILL ME. Oh my gosh, I went through so much indecisive trials and tribulations with this one. BECAUSE NO ONE IS EFFING PERFECT ENOUGH TO LIVE UP TO JACK'S APPEARANCE. LIKE, NO ONE. Every person I looked at looked like him only at certain angles and in certain pictures and I literally spent, like, two hours scouring the internet to find someone good. Then gave up for about a month and a half seeing as at the time I hadn't seen the movie yet so I didn't know Jack like I do now but now that I know him (and kind of really, really, really like him to an unrevealed exponent), I decided to try looking again. Enter two more hours of scouring the internet. Even though I really do think Niall and Jack look alike, I really didn't want to resort to casting Niall as Jack mainly for conflictual reasons. I really didn't want 1D haters to hate on me for casting Niall as Jack and I didn't want to stir up any other possible issues between Directioners and 1D haters. (PS: For the record, I'm Switzerland. I'm not against 1D, I think they're songs are pretty catchy, but I definitely don't like them enough to be a total fangirl who internet stalks and swears upon marriage to every single member like some of my friends are. Just thought I'd put that out there that I'm the neutral party.)
Dianna Agron as Tooth
- This one was actually one of the quick, spur-of-the-moment additions to this. I wasn't sure who I was gonna choose for Tooth and stuff but I ended up choosing Dianna Agron. I don't really know why. I just got Tooth vibes from her, I suppose. I don't know, this one's up for interpretation. I've never dreamcasted a hummingbird-human hybrid before sooo..... yeah
